cinnamon roast almonds

I cannot get enough of these. (They also have a cocoa flavored one that is good too). They have little sodium, no sugar, tons of protein and fiber. My favorite nuts are usually walnuts, pecans, cashews......almonds never did it for me but they are really food for you, and now I will be getting A LOT of them in my diet, thats for sure! Trust me and just go buy some!

a drop of golden sun

yesterday we finally saw some sun and it felt so wonderful. while Isla napped I went to lay on a blanket at Baker beach to soak up some vit D I have been missing out on. It was so beautiful with perfect weather. My favorite part was seeing the dolphin, that made my day!

glowing skin

everything I have ever tried from Mario Badescu has been WONDERFUL, everything is so natural and soothing, it makes my skin happy.

when I take these supplements, I notice my skin is better. it claims to moisturize from the inside out or something like that...it has flax seed and essential omegas.

water. I need to drink more of it. I used to drink it constantly but when I got pregnant I had to force myself to drink and unforuntately that has stuck with me. These SEI water bottles are a cool shape, Ive only seen it in New York though.

I don't like to wear much make up and I have always been anti foundation but recently discovered this and I love it. a little goes a long way and it lasts a long time. it really gives a nice even, dewey finish and it has 30 SPF in it.

SLEEP, the most important thing for skin for sure. its tempting to stay up late once Isla goes to bed but I am trying not to.

I have really noticed that when I am eating lots of salads and fruits and salmon my skin really does improve. so, eat healthy. for anyone reading this, dont be shy, what else should be on this list?

Feel Good

Lately I have been thinking a lot about the fact that Life is too short. I think you should do what you really enjoy and what makes you happy. Eat the foods you love, wear the clothes you like, and take yourself to your happy places....favorite music, places, activities... sometimes I find myself focusing on the negative and stressing myself out for no good reason...no more!
This weekend I did some things that made me happy....I listened to this music while folding laundry and watched this movie and laughed a lot! I made great pasta, strawberry shortcake and truffles for the missionaries.... I kissed Isla about 2 million times... I cleaned up and made our home pretty... and focused on all of the blessings I have been given and how wonderful my life is.
I want to make an effort to always make my day one that I can look back on fondly. savouring the little details and not taking for granted all that life has to offer... really having a positive attitude and not sweating the small stuff. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

my new breakfast

1. oatmeal 2. chocolate 3. nuts 4. milk

I don't know how I have lived 29 years and not done this. Thank you cousin Victoria for telling me how good this is. I used some favorite semi-sweet chips and walnuts. It tasted like oatmeal chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven. And its good for you!

If I were a day of the week, I'd be Friday. If I were a month, I'd be October. If I were a direction, I'd be West. If I were a time of day, I'd be Sunset. If I were a gemstone, I'd be a diamond (of course). If I were a tree, I'd be a Linden tree. If I were a tool, I'd be a paintbrush. If I were a flower, I'd be Gardenia. If I were a kind of weather, I'd be a warm Indian Summer day. If I were a musical instrument, I'd be a piano. If I were a color, I'd be pale pink. If I were a fruit, I'd be a juicy peach. If I were an element, I'd be water. If I were a food, I'd be a baguette. If I were a place, I'd be home. If I were a material, I'd be Linen. If I were a scent, I'd be vanilla. If I were an object, I'd be a Matisse painting. If I were a song, I'd be Forever by the Beach Boys

Betty Draper

Mad Men. I love this show, at first I just liked the eye candy, all the costumes but now I have actually gotten into it.
Betty is Don's wife and she is quite sassy. she makes me want to wear dresses with a cinched waist and have my hair perfectly set and curled, and wear cute nighties...
They really do a good job recreating the early 60s, its so fun to watch!
